What Al Bundy just said....
I don't see how you can have a hardcore experience without buttons. At some point in a hard core experience your character will have to run. You can't actually run and stay in front of Natal at the same time. At some point in a hardcore experience your character will have to turn around. Natal can track you while you turn, but once you turn around you are no longer facing the screen you can't see what you are doing.

If Movie Theaters can project movies in 3-D onto the same movie screen that they were using to display 2-D movies, why can't a regular plasma HDTV display a video game in 3-D. The glasses are what allows one of your eyes to see certain colors while the other eye sees a different set of colors, creating the 3-D effect in the process. I fail to understand why a special TV is necessary to do that. We don't need a special movie screen to do that.
@NexGen
No, that's not what I'm saying.
Natal's position will be closer to the position the PS3 was in at the beginnning of the generation. That is, trying to prove that their hardware is better than the other, cheaper alternatives that have been on the market for a longer period of time and have 10 times more market share.
Move will avoid this by having the ability to directly copy the Wii, in terms of how the games actually wor...
I have stated this before and I will state it again.
Both Move and Wii give you something to hold in your hand to play with. Natal doesn't.
Wii has 70 million consoles in the market.
If a developer want to make a casual game. He can decide not to use the cutting edge technology in the Move and instead simply treat the Move as though it were a Wii and make the game for Wii/PS3-Move. That is the greatest threat to Natal...that 3rd part...
June 8th I will be there.
MGS:Peace Walker PSP bundle for the win.
I have been saying this for years. Sniping in video games only serve to break the gameplay.
To over simply...most snipers are cowards. They enjoy shooting at people while the person/people they are shooting at are unable to shoot at them. In other words they don't want to stand face-to-face with another play and try to kill them before they get killed themselves. They want to kill others but they are afraid to risk their own ***.
Lately, games have be...
1. Party System - We Need to be able to get a group of friends together and then look for games as a unit.
2. Party System - We need a system that can create games from several units of 2, 3, or 4 players and assemble those groups into factions while keeping each party intact as a squad.
3. Mort time to talk to my team before the game launches. Killzone 2 only gave about 30 seconds in the lobby; it wasn't enough time for a team that required so much team...
...But the $149 price point is not one of them. These products cost money to make. It is too late in the generation to start taking loses on brand new hardware. MSFT has to sell Natal at the break-even point at least.
The $149 number is the price after the adjustment down from the originally intended $199 that leaked a few weeks ago and was met with a collective WTF from the public. The Jedi Mind Trick is from people trying to convince themselves that Microsoft is going t...
No this generation has used UE3 and come close to Heavenly Sword. Moreover, PS3 exclusives are all-around better than the multi-plats that use the UE3.
Someone, perhaps someone in another thread, said that Move is basically a glorified plus. Maybe it is maybe it is so much more. However, the fact I want to point out here is that both the Wii and Move are alike in that there is something in your hand when you play them. By contrast, with Natal there is nothing in your hand when you play it.
So if I am game developer 'X' looking to make a casual game for the casual audience I have two choices...

How did you get 4 bubbles? Are you a mod or something?
I disagree.
I think Natal is targeting people who DON'T ALREADY HAVE A 360. They are trying to compete with Nintendo for the casual crowd. That is why they have a second conference. They are going to talk about it as though it is a separate individual console, and attempt to use the Natal pack to directly compete with the Wii.
The question is whether on not Microsoft is going to cut the price of the stand-alone Xbox 360 arcade unit, or even offer it.
If M$ offers the arcade for $149 and the Natal pack for $149, then the Natal pack won't matter; it(Natal) also won't sell. Sales of the arcade will take off because of the $150 price point and only a small percentage will come back for the Natal. However, I suspect that Microsoft knows that and that is why I suspect that Microsoft will not cu...
I'll bet if Square-Enix could go back in time and undo that announcement they would. The internet has been fighting over Final Fantasy ever since.
You can't really do a hostile takeover of a software company anyway. You can do it on paper, but the all the programmers would just leave. In the end you would have nothing but whatever intellectual property they owned but none of the talent that made it.
Microsoft does not own Gears of War; Epic own the Gears of War IP. Epic could port it to PS3, PS2, or Wii as soon as whatever contract they have with Microsoft runs out.
They could even make a new Gears of War game a exclusive to another platform if they wanted.
Those men who prefer video games to sex don't have wives that look like the women in that picture.
But then again...
After you've been banging the same woman for 15 years I bet a new Metal Gear Solid game can be rather refreshing.
Its like they don't understand what a secondary market does.
A secondary market allows people to get into the market that otherwise can not afford to buy.
If they cut of the secondary market they will find that they won't sell as many games at all because they are going to lock people out. Example:
I buy a game new for $60.
I play it, beat it, and sell it back to Gamestop for $20.
I then take $40 out of my pocket an...
So if they see something that is going to result in a worse experience for their money, they should scream bloody murder. The game company is not going to give them a discount on the game. Therefore, it is in their best interest to lobby for the game to be in the best form possible when it comes to the market. (360 fans should do the same, but I suppose nothing has been promised to them so they have no sense of loss.)
The fact is as long as PS3 fans buy most of the units th...
That simple counter that rewards the player with bullet-time is one of the problems that I have with the game; it's too easy.
The beauty of Ninja Gaiden is that its combat remains balanced at high levels even though the game is getting MUCH more difficult. Although I will admit that Sigma/Black did this much better than NGS/NGS2 did. I haven't finished my Master Ninja play-through of Sigma 2 but I think the one-grab kill is bunk.
